SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Downtown Schenectady has been transformed over the past two decades — from a dead zone of shuttered businesses and empty storefronts to a vibrant commercial and residential corridor.
Now multiple projects headed before the city planning commission next week are poised to further transform broad sections of the heart of the city.
Transfinder, the software developer that specializes in transportation logistics, aims to expand its distinctive headquarters on State Street. The company wants to demolish a structure at 438 State St. that formerly housed a Subway and erect a five-story building on the footprint.
