Schenectady, N.Y. — The City of Schenectady and the Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority today announced that a Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) website is now available at www.schenectadydri.com.
“We were extremely honored to be named a DRI winner by Governor Cuomo,” said Mayor Gary McCarthy. “The new website will help Schenectady residents stay informed about the DRI process and give them the opportunity to share their ideas and input about the best ways to continue downtown’s growth.”
Metroplex set up the website which contains a copy of Schenectady’s winning DRI application as well as general information on DRI and a place where public comment can be provided.
“The Downtown Revitalization Initiative will have a tremendous impact on our community. Input from our residents and business is a critical part of ensuring that we get the most out of the DRI process,” said Anthony Jasenski, Chair of the Schenectady County Legislature. “I urge residents to submit their ideas on the new website, so everyone’s voice can be heard.”
“As Downtown Schenectady continues its great comeback story, we will use the $10 million provided by Governor Cuomo to keep the progress going. We welcome all ideas and comments,” said Ray Gillen, Metroplex Chair.
Moving forward, the Schenectady DRI process will include public meetings and the establishment of a Local Planning Committee.
