Schenectady, N.Y. — The Schenectady County Legislature last evening approved a measure calling for a public hearing on a sale of 1.25 acres at the County’s Airport Business Park in Glenville to Bruno Associates. The land sale will provide the company with land needed for a plant expansion. The County will receive $107,500 from the sale of 1.25 acres.
The public hearing will be held on May 4th at 7:00 pm at the Schenectady County Legislature. Due to social distancing rules, the meeting will be held via teleconference.
Schenectady County recruited Bruno Associates to the Airport Business Park in 2017. The company built a 16,000 square foot building to produce computerized machine tools. To accommodate a planned expansion of 8,900 square feet, the company wants to purchase an additional 1.25 acres from the County.
“The Airport Business Park continues to attract new businesses and we are pleased to move forward with this land sale to help Bruno Associates expand,” said Anthony Jasenski, Chairman of the Schenectady County Legislature. “Schenectady County is doing everything possible now to position the County for job growth once the current health crisis is contained.”
Bruno Associates plans to move forward with the expansion later this year when current restrictions on construction are lifted.
The Schenectady County Airport is home to the Stratton Air National Guard base, a Joint Military Reserve Training Center, Richmor Aviation, SUNY Schenectady County’s flight training and air traffic controller programs and the County’s ice skating facility. The Airport Business Park is home to Bruno Associates, C2 Design Group, Euro Tile & Stone, REVA Air Ambulance, DSM and Mohawk Honda.
