(Schenectady County, NY) On Friday, September 22, 2017, Schenectady County will conclude its Jammin’ on Jay Concert Series by hosting one of the biggest nights of live, local music in Downtown Schenectady at Schenectady County’s Battle of the Bands.
“Schenectady County invites you Downtown to experience the excitement of the 4th Annual Battle of the Bands,” said Cathy Gatta, Chair of the Legislature’s Committee on Tourism, Arts and Special Events. “Grab your friends and come down to see some of the area’s best bands competing for prizes and the chance to play in front of 25,000 people at SummerNight 2018.”
Schenectady County’s Battle of the Bands will take place on the Jay Street Marketplace in Downtown Schenectady from 5:30pm until 10:00pm. Admission is FREE and food and beverages will be available. 2016 Battle of the Bands winner Lucy will headline at 8pm with the 2017 winner announced directly following. Judges will include past Battle of the Bands winners and County Legislator Cathy Gatta, Chair of the Committee on Tourism, Arts and Special Events.
This year’s participants include Shoebox Dojo, Bendt, and Hudson’s Crew. Band biographies and links to their social media pages can be found on the Schenectady County website at www.SchenectadyCounty.com/SpecialEvents.
Previous Battle of the Band winners include Stockade Kids, Moriah Formica, and Lucy.
Schenectady County’s Battle of the Bands is presented by Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corp., Saratoga Eagle, Rivers Casino and Resort, and the Times Union.
