Schenectady, N.Y. – Raw, located at 177 Jay Street in Schenectady, is expanding into an adjoining building, more than doubling the size of the popular juice and smoothie bar located on the Jay Street Marketplace pedestrian walkway just steps from Proctors and other downtown attractions.
The expansion into 175 Jay Street will allow customers to sit and enjoy Raw’s offerings indoors, as the current space is takeout only. The patio space in front of the shop will also double in size.
Raw features only the freshest natural ingredients in its cold-pressed juices, smoothies, acai bowls, salads, baked goods and other menu items.
Founded in 2016, Raw is extremely popular with both visitors and downtown employees.
Owner Nicole Pardi said, “We hope to finish renovations in August and then begin serving customers in the newly expanded Raw. Our business continues to grow, so we needed to add space to handle the demand for our fresh food and drinks. We are thrilled about being able to accommodate our guests better with this additional space.”
Jim Salengo, Executive Director of the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation (DSIC) said, “Raw is a great draw for Schenectady, as many people travel to downtown to enjoy their tasty, healthful offerings. We are excited to see them thrive and grow on Jay Street.”
