Niskayuna, N.Y. — Niskayuna was just informed that its drinking water won the “Best Tasting Drinking Water in the State” contest held at the New York State Fair in Syracuse.
After regaining the title as 2012 Best Tasting Drinking Water in Schenectady County, the Town of Niskayuna won the regional competition held at an “Alive at Five” in downtown Albany. Niskayuna tied with Guilderland, and both Towns moved on to the State finals held at the New York State Fair in Syracuse.
“We are very proud and honored that our water was selected as the Best Tasting Drinking Water in the State,” said Town of Niskayuna Supervisor Joe Landry. “This honor is a reflection of all the hard work by our employees in the Water Department, especially those at our Water Plant.”
The regional competition was held on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Alive at Five in Downtown Albany. Niskayuna won the Schenectady County competition held on June 28, 2012 at the Farmers Market in downtown Schenectady.
