NISKAYUNA, N.Y. — General Electric is seeking approval from the town of Niskayuna to build a new research facility on its 522 acre property at 1 Research Circle to aid work on clean energy, sustainable flight and health initiatives.
The company submitted documents to the town Planning Department and board on Wednesday for a 16,000-square-foot building with a height of 55 feet at the intersection of KW Road and Discovery Drive.
Because of the building’s height, GE will need to get approval for a variance. The town code allows for buildings with a height of 35 feet.
