Schenectady, N.Y. – The Mill Artisan District redevelopment project is ready to celebrate a major milestone with the completion and grand opening of the Frog Alley Brewing Taproom. The fun starts Friday at 4 p.m. and continues all weekend long with a special live music series along with a preview of our new BBQ restaurant.
“We are so excited and eager to show the community our Main Taproom. I really believe it will have a positive impact on lower State Street and Schenectady as a whole, and this is just the beginning” said JT Pollard, developer of the Mill Artisan District and owner of Re4orm Architecture. “We are ready to welcome the public to our new taproom and outdoor patio. Our Master Brewers and best-in-class equipment are in place and we are ready to start brewing at full capacity and offer some of the best tasting brews for our customers.”
Frog Alley Brewing is a full-scale contract brewer with bottling and canning capacity on-site. Customers in the Taproom will be able to see their beer brewing and sample the offerings of new brewing entrepreneurs. The Taproom features five repurposed shipping containers that allow other brewers to lease ‘incubator’ space. Frog Alley expects to produce 4,000 barrels on site in its first year with the capacity to produce 10,000 barrels under contract. SUNY Schenectady County Community College will train new master brewers in classroom space also located on-site.
The New Frog Alley Taproom will be open 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Frog Alley Brewing is projected to employ 65 people in the production and taproom operations, under the experienced eyes of Master Brewers Rich Michaels and Drew Schmidt.
