Glenville, N.Y. — Dimension Fabricators, Inc., located in Glenville, NY today announced that the company continues to land new contracts for manufactured steel products to be built at its 152,000 square foot facility located at the Glenville Business and Technology Park.
Dimension’s workforce of skilled manufacturing employees will grow from 60 to more than 70 as a result of new orders for steel products. The company announced new orders for projects with the Toronto Transit Commission and the Three Nations Bridge at Cornwall, Ontario.
Dimension was founded in 1984. The company manufactures steel products including rebar, steel spirals and steel cages. The Dimension employee team in Glenville turns massive coils and rods of steel into complex steel structures at the Glenville plant that are shipped to customers around the US and Canada. .
“I have been in manufacturing my whole life,” said Scott Stevens, President of Dimension Fabricators. “While some say manufacturing in the United States is on the decline, we don’t accept that as fact here at Dimension. Every day we proudly manufacture steel products that are made right here in Schenectady County.”
Current orders have resulted in manufacturing machinery purchases including a new high precision plasma cutting system and an automated CNC vertical machining center.
In late 2009, Dimension purchased the former Super Steel plant in Glenville, NY.
“The decision to buy the former Super Steel plant is proving to be a great move for our company and our employees. We took a modern production facility and made it better by improving loading docks, upgrading office space and adapting the plant for steel manufacturing. The heavy cranes in the building with capacity up to 150 tons help us be competitive on large steel projects. While the majority of our contracts go to customers in other states, we remain loyal to Upstate New York as it has always been our home.”
Ray Gillen, Commissioner of Economic Development for Schenectady County said, “Every time Dimension ships its steel products, we are proud that this company is successfully competing for and winning manufacturing orders here in Schenectady County. Dimension’s continued expansion is helping Schenectady County continue to create new jobs.”
