Schenectady, N.Y. — The Board of Directors of the Capital Region Land Bank has approved a contract valued at $532,300 to demolish 15 blighted and vacant buildings in Schenectady County.
A total of four bids were received. The low bidder was Gorick Construction Co., Inc. of Binghamton, New York.
Land Bank Chairman Richard Ruzzo said, “The Land Bank continues its efforts to attack blight and revitalize neighborhoods by removing buildings that act as impediments to neighborhood safety, security and health. As we all deal with this nationwide health crisis, we are putting in place contracts that will allow us to continue neighborhood boosting efforts when it is safe to do so. We will have a contractor and plans in place to move forward this year as a result of this bid award.”
