Schenectady, N.Y. — Will the City of Schenectady retain their title or be dethroned for the best tasting drinking water in Schenectady County? Find out Thursday, June 28, 2012 as local municipalities in Schenectady County do battle to determine who has the best tasting drinking water. The winner will go on to the regional competition in Albany and if successful, the State finals held at the New York State Fair in Syracuse. Last year, the City of Schenectady won the County-level competition and advanced to the Regional competition.
“Schenectady County has some of the best tasting water in the State, as both the City of Schenectady and the Town of Rotterdam have been regional and state champions,” said Judy Dagostino, Chairwoman of the Schenectady County Legislature. “Schenectady County has an abundant supply of great tasting water right out of the tap. This taste test is a chance for each of our towns, villages and the City of Schenectady to compete for the right to say that they have the best tasting water in Schenectady County. The best part of the competition is that our local residents get to choose the winner, so I encourage everyone to come down to the Farmers Market and be the judge.”
