Schenectady, N.Y., December 7, 2006 — Schenectady County officials today announced that Electronic Coating Technologies (ECT) of Brampton, Ontario will lease 3,250 square feet of space at the Schenectady County Community Business Center. The new lease means that all manufacturing and production space in the 25,000 square foot Business Center is now filled. An additional 1,500 square feet of office space is still available for lease.

ECT provides conformal coating and encapsulation services for the protection of electronic circuit boards. The company plans to utilize the Schenectady operation to service manufacturers in the Northeastern United States including firms that manufacture electronic equipment for the automotive, industrial, transportation and telecommunication industries.

Susan E. Savage, Chair of the Schenectady County Legislature said, “We are very pleased that ECT has decided to lease space in the County Business Center and we welcome them to our community. The Business Center is producing jobs and new companies for our community and we are pleased to have this facility play an active role in our unified County economic development team.”

Tom Charlton, President of ECT said, “We are excited about establishing our US facility in Schenectady County and we look forward to joining with the other companies at the Business Center.”

The company plans to take occupancy of space at the Business Center in early 2007 creating five new jobs.

The Schenectady County Community Business Center offers manufacturing, distribution and office space for growing companies. Including ECT, there are nine companies located at the facility. The Business Center helps entrepreneurs with small business financing, counseling and business plan development as part of Schenectady County’s unified economic development effort coordinated by Metroplex.
