This notice is issued pursuant to Part 617 of the implementing regulations pertaining to Article 8 (State Environmental Quality Review Act) of the Environmental Conservation Law.
The Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority (“Metroplex”), as Lead Agency, accepts as complete for public review and comment the Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement (“DGEIS”) for the ALCO Redevelopment Project described below; schedules a public hearing on March 1, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Metroplex offices, Room 400, 433 State Street, Schenectady, New York; and provides notice that written comments will be accepted until March 12, 2010.

Description of Action:
Metroplex intends to facilitate redevelopment of the Nott Street Industrial Park (“the Park”). The Park is approximately 100 acres in size located within the City of Schenectady. The Park is bounded by Erie Boulevard, the Mohawk River, the Stockade section of Schenectady, and the Front Street Neighborhood. Within the property are 12 or more structures, varying in size, occupancy/vacancy and tenancy.
Location:
301 Nott Street, Schenectady, containing 100+/- acres including parcels adjoining 301 Nott Street. The project site is bounded by Erie Boulevard, the Mohawk River, the Stockade section of Schenectady, and the Front Street Neighborhood.
Reasons Supporting This Determination:
The Lead Agency has completed its review of the DGEIS and determined that the DGEIS complies with the requirements of the Final Scoping Outline and the Part 617 requirements of the State Environmental Quality Review Act. The DGEIS evaluates the potential significant environmental impacts identified in the Positive Declaration and fully considers the issues identified in the Final Scoping Outline.
